Pasta Indiana

I tried to make a completely different pasta which I named, 'Pasta Indiana'. It sure was fun and I loved the taste too.

Here is the image of Dell Monte pasta which I received.

I followed few simple steps to prepare the pasta according to my taste.
First I heated some oil and added some mustard and cumin seeds. After they spluttered, I added some roasted groundnuts, about 4 roughly smashed garlic cloves and one medium sized chopped onion.

Then added some jaggery, about the size of three big areca nuts.

I added the tamarind syrup I had prepared by soaking it in water for half an hour.

To this I added pasta which I had boiled, drained and kept aside.

And then went in a three fourth tea spoon of red chilli powder, a pinch of coriander powder, a pinch of cumin powder and chat masala. After mixing all I let it on flame for about minutes with the vessel covered with lid.

Then after transferring it to the serving bowl I topped it with 3 table spoons of curds and mixed it well.

And then simply garnished it with little more curds and kept some onions and garlic around it

MY STORIES OF.....FROGS, MONKEYS AND ELEPHANTS

Every creation by NATURE, be it the animal, bird, forest, mountain or the river, has the right to live in its true pure form; but we, the so called most intelligent living beings are destroying or spoiling them for our benefits. I question,'Can't we live in harmony with them?' Then, comes...'The Darwin's Theory Of Survival Of The Fittest' to mind, one has to fight to survive! But fighting doesn't mean killing, at least now, when science has come this far. Being smarter ones, we can avoid causing any harm to them and still survive! Isn't that something to be thought over? And, again, for that balanced ecosystem all have to survive for the sake of all.

I want to save all the species on the planet but since it's a Hobson's choice, I have to choose these... my favorites. Favoritism prevails everywhere, I hope my other fellow beings on the list don't mind for not being chosen.

FROGS...? They sounded very interesting since my childhood. We sisters used to sit by the pond in our farm and watch the tadpoles make tiny hops and merry. The way they swam was truly delightful for us. So, for this reason, the unhappy me who doesn't see a frog around these days,
want to save them and their relatives, I mean the other species of frogs from all over the world.

INDIAN BULLFROG
The next ones are our relatives of past, Monkeys...! I heard stories about these naughty creatures snatching bananas, coconuts and even purses from people. Once they had taken an entry into my house through the back door while I was fast asleep on one afternoon. I woke up to see a family of monkeys-2 adults and two babies entering into my kitchen in a queue quietly. Petrified me, ran to the neighbors to get help and by the time I returned with my neighbor they were on their way back with the head of the family carrying my box full of flattened rice. Somehow my neighbor managed to take my box back! They had eaten my onions, potatoes and carried some sweet lemons that I had kept on the cooking platform. Yeah! They messed up my kitchen and ate my food and I still want to save them and their other relatives! Generous, me.
LION-TAILED MACAQUE

Elephants? I always knew as them as humble and friendly creatures. The movie buff me, saw them in every other movie as a pet and admired them a lot and....the story still continues. So, I want to save these, my all-time favorites.
ASIATIC ELEPHANT

You have read my stories till now, and I am sure you all loved them and want to echo my voice. Don't you?

Honey Diet

Human body is made up of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids along with traces of vitamins-A, B Complex, C, D, E, K and minerals-Iron, calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium etc.  Any deficiencies in these cause various disorders in the human physiology and anatomy.

-Deficiency of 'Vitamin A' causes night blindness.
-Deficiency of 'Vitamin B 12' causes pernicious anemia.
-Deficiency of 'Vitamin C' causes scurvy.
-Deficiency of 'Vitamin D' causes rickets.
-Deficiency of 'Iron' causes anemia.
-Deficiency of 'Calcium' leads to osteoporosis.
 Severe deficiencies can be fatal.

Certain fruits, vegetables and pulses contain certain nutrients, for example: pulses are rich sources of proteins; apple, tomato, carrot, papaya are all rich in Vitamin A; gooseberry, citrus fruits-lemon, orange, sweet lime are rich sources of Vitamins C. So milk and egg are considered wholesome food as they are rich sources of many nutrients like proteins, calcium and vitamins.

Excess amounts of these essential components cause problems too....hypervitaminosis, hypercalcemia etc. leading to further complications in the human body.

So one is required to take these supplements regularly in required amounts, neither less nor more.
The benefits of such a balanced diet cannot be numbered as they are plenty. Along with that healthy body with normal functioning organs comes the healthy mind. With these two one can achieve success in every sphere of life. Isn't that true?

I know many, who in the quest of losing weight got hospitalized due to weakness and anemia. Crash diets only further the complications. To burn the excess fat one is not supposed to cut on all the other essential nutrients. Avoiding fried items and all the other fatty foods is what all required to get into shape. One is advised to have many small meals a day rather than 3 full heavy meals- breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food intake must be mainly in liquid form-juices, and green leafy vegetables. Completely lessening the sweets intake can only cause weakness as they are primary sources of energy. So replacing the natural sugar with artificial sweeteners which have low calories is always advised. But, that replacement with honey is more beneficial as it is also a rich source of antioxidants which help in eliminating the free radicals from the body, the bi-products of metabolism, which cause ageing and other diseases.

Intake of a spoonful of honey with a warm glass of water and lemon juice is a known fact aiding in weight reduction. Not only this, adding honey in place of sugar to sweets, juices and other dishes, which is no cutting down on the sugar intake,  called 'Honey diet' is very healthy way of dieting. Those with sweet tooth too don't have to worry more about their diet and can follow these recipes by Chef Vikas Khanna.

Aren't these reasons enough......?

I am a passionate blogger, internet surfer, social media bug and a shutter bug. So, I always used to carry my laptop and camera wherever I went. Reluctant, I had to bid them bye, as my friends and family persuaded me to. And soon a smart phone substituted them. Very soon I got accustomed to it and started loving it very much. Why shouldn't one, they are the most needed compact gadgets!

But, one problem I always face with my phone is slower accessibility. And sometimes, it is too frustrating when I am not able to complete my assignments or get the information I need on time. I blamed my internet service provider for that, until that day. Being from a non-technological field I could understand that the RAM (Random Access Memory) of the phone also plays a role in making the browsing and writing faster that day, the day on which ASUS ZEN PHONE 2 was launched and made a big news all over. It is the world's first phone with 4GB RAM. This makes it the fastest smartphone! Or I can say, the smartest smart phone. While there are many more reasons that make it to my wish list, this tops them. 13Mpa rear view Camera make the pictures clearer. Rotating the phone left to right up to 140 degrees enables to take panoramic selfie; truly with this, one can see what others can't see. So, now you know why this is truly my favourite phone!

Did I tell you that I only read, write and take pictures? Sorry, I am very choosy and don't like to be one in the crowd. Choosing the unique ones from the market is my favorite job, after all it gives that happiness of being different. Asus Zenfonez are always known for their colours and finish. And this time the Zen PHONE 2 fusion and illusion series are truly unique. I love all of them, choosing one from so many good options is really difficult. The ergonomic arc design with thinner edges makes it comfortable to hold and use. So those who are not stuck to their phones or don't have the necessity to use their phones constantly, can choose  the 2GB RAM version of ZEN PHONE 2 for its looks.

ZEN PHONE 2

                                                                           FUSION SERIES                ILLUSION SERIES

The 5 LDS (LASER DIRECT STRUCTURING) antennas in this phone help in greater signal coverage. The Smart Audio Wizard with different modes of listening-Movie, Music, Game, Speech and Smart mode make it smarter. Isn't the Movie mode great for those Hot Star lovers and YouTube lovers? For the game lovers the Game mode and for the less active on phone, Speech and Smart mode are enough. What a range of good features! The Mini Movie feature is so adorable, one can make mini movies using photos on special occasions like birhtday's, anniversaries and share them with friends and family.

Aren't these reasons enough to make my favorite phone on your wish list?

SORRY FOR THE DELAY

I know just a few words cannot describe him. This is my child like attempt.

When I was a child he bought me toys, dresses, books and my favorite sweets like any other good father. He admitted me to one of the best schools, not worrying about the fees. In fact, our relatives were against educating a girl child. My father never listened to them and gave us this opportunity. With all the responsibilities on his shoulders, he has been working so hard all these years for us. I know it is the responsibility of the parents to give all the good things to their children. But they never settle for the good, always, they are in search of the better and the best constantly. They are persistent even in times of financial crisis, when they can choose to settle for just the good one. But, no they cannot compromise with the facilities they give to their children. Isn't that something to be thanked for? Yeah, I realize it now... now, when grown up and I am all by myself.

Dad does not demand anything but, just our well being and our success. He is not dependent even now on us; if we children buy him something he says, 'what was the necessity to get this? I have all'.

We always have talked about the mothers, their hard work and unconditional love but rarely about the fathers. When a mother is working at home for us, a father is too toiling hard outside for the same, for us his true treasures. We are celebrating Mother’s day since many years with such a joy but didn't even know when the Father's Day is. I didn't even bother to check it on calendar. Did you? I really thought there is no such day. Why did I feel so, well that is a question I am still pondering over. There are reminders on all the channels on TV and FM for the Mother's Day every year. But never heard a bit about Father's Day. Why? Have we all become feminists? Or the atrocities on women have shadowed the good men and their contribution to the world! Doesn't every good person in the world needs to be celebrated? Now, I am feeling that there should be a debate on this on TIMES NOW. Wouldn't that be a great idea to talk about and stand up for the good men? :).

Feeling sorry for not doing this, these many years. So, not forgetting my bit, without much delay now, I need to hug and tell him what a great dad he is.

This father’s day, I am expressing my love towards my dad by participating in the #HugYourDad activity at BlogAdda in association with Vicks.

#MaxFreshMove

My bag was heavy with vegetables and grocery, and I was waiting for the bus from the last 15-20 minutes. I had moved around, in the market, crazily buying more than what was needed for the week and was already exhausted. While I was waiting, there came a bunch of college girls giggling and gossiping. 'Offo! Those college days...are never going to come back. Those golden days meant all joy and play, and no work.' I went nostalgic.

We enjoyed watching movies in college days, after every internal we were at the nearby theatre. And, 'Arya' the super hit Telugu movie which I remember watching in my room with seniors and batch-mates is the most enjoyed one. Allu Arjun had become the favorite of all for his dance moves and acting.

I came out of my reminiscence when everybody around started rushing towards the bus. The bus was late by an hour. When I looked up I was surprised to see the embellished bus. And then I noticed there were mostly college students. They were all so excited. Puzzled me, tried to make out what was going on. Then I noticed the posters of Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda on it. Still not understanding it completely I stood there trying to read what was written beneath, then a voice from the bus shouted, 'Mam get in soon we are already late for the premiere'. Then something struck me and I got in hurriedly. Then asked the girl beside me who told me about the premiere of album of Anushka Manchanda and Allu Arjun at the nearby convention centre. I was very much excited after hearing this and almost forgot my fatigue.

The bus was halting and we could hear the song, Aa ante Amalapuram and the audience cheering. All got down the bus and rushed to the hall. I left my bag there in the bus thinking of taking it back later and hurried to the hall. After Allu Arjun's performance from his hit movies Anushka sang her super hit songs. Then Anushka announced they have performed together in an album #Max FreshMove and would showcase it to us. She began singing vivaciously and Allu Arjun began dancing. It was truly a fresh track with the fresh moves. I was deeply engrossed and took me some time to get up from my seat after it was all over. After I came out from the convention center I tried to catch an auto as I didn't want to get late to home, from behind came a voice, 'Mam, your bag' I turned to see a man stretching his hand to give me a bag full of vegetables and grocery. I was totally engrossed for two hours and had forgotten that I had come here straight from the market.

Positivity With A Fresh Move

From the last few days I was feeling let down, let down by life. The stress was building up interminably. However hard I tried to think positively and vent it out, I didn't succeed. Nothing seemed good. No serials, no movies, no listening to FM came to my rescue; these are the things I usually enjoy the most. Every time I strived to seek that much needed strength and peace through one of these channels, no mood elevation was done. This went on for many days. Then finally came the moment of salvation that evening.

On that evening, I was lying on the sofa lifelessly changing channels on my TV every now and then as nothing seemed engaging. Then I suddenly came to stop on to this channel where a different kind of live performance was going on. I paused there for a minute and started getting engrossed into it. It was Allu Arjun Dancing for the song....Jeele Zara...Jee le Zara...Oh Humsafar.... His dance moves were graceful with intense emotions that corded well with the song. The song was sung sentimentally whole heartedly by Anushka Manchanda. This song the old wine in a new bottle was truly endearing as the original track. Then, there was Haari baaji ko jeetana hume aata hai... from the 1992 super-hit movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, with lots of energy and liveliness it was performed by Allu arjun and Anushka. Watching them perform together for 2 hours was completely catching and I had forgotten all my worries.

Their purpose was served! Yeah, they were doing this concert for encouragement...to wipe the worries of the people. The josh with which Allu danced and Anushka sang was commendable. Those fresh moves of Allu Arjun for Anushka's intense voice were invigorating the soul. It's true that Music can heal people. Especially this kind of soulful performances can create magic on the minds.

Buoyancy was gained; I was all there back, much more effervescent than I was any other time before. In the following days I started humming, singing, writing etc., all joyfully. Just thanking Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda for their #FreshMove is not enough. I truly am very grateful to them. I am sure there are many others who have evolved out from the boredom and stress of life by their performance. Positivity always spreads positivity around, isn't it? So try to be positive no matter what, and spread positivity and heal people.

My Tips For A Beautiful Skin

'Wow! Look at her! Isn't she beautiful?'
'What is the secret behind your glowing skin?'
Aren't these the common questions or conversations?  Though the internal beauty, the person's nature, is all that matters most, external appearance cannot be ignored; it is always the first to get attention. It is natural to get attracted towards external beauty.

Beauty comes out from within, they say.  Having nutritious food, drinking plenty of water does all needed to the flawless skin. But still we want to do something from outside and just can't resist it. Sometimes, it is necessary to approach from outside too; washing off that grime, moisturizing in winter, applying sunscreen in summer, removing the tan caused by the Sun are all necessary.

All the beauty consciousness has led to innumerable manufacturers of beauty products. Some products are suitable to only few people and have no effect on others and may even worsen the conditions in a few causing allergy. Some can be lethal in the long run; I feel so after the Maggi controversy. So without taking risk, the best way to groom oneself is with Ayurvedic products like VICCO Turmeric Cream  and other natural substances.

There is a myth that the home remedies are quite slower in showing the desired results while they can create wonders instantly if used with proper massage techniques. Moreover they are not at all harmful even in the long run.
Few quick fixes to dull skin at home, which I usually follow are:
1) Honey when applied on face for 15-20 minutes and washed off with hot water gives a glowing  moisturized skin; it not only makes the skin fairer with lightened blemishes, open pores also become smaller.
2) Washing face with boiled potato water and lightly massaging the face with boiled potato makes skin fairer and considerably lightens the blemishes, freckles and helps in tightening the skin as it acts as a pack too.
3) Massaging face with tomato also lightens the skin and blemishes. It opens the clogged pores and thus helps in getting rid of blackheads and white heads.
4) Unboiled milk is a wonderful cleanser and bleaching agent. But it has to be washed off later with a soap as it may clog pores and cause pimples and acne.
5) Curds is the best bleaching agent. Massaging with curds for 15-20 minutes is a regular thing I do. Even this should be washed off for it is sticky and causes pimples if not done so.
6) Milk with a pinch of turmeric when applied regularly is sure going to lighten the skin considerably. This also keeps pimples and acne at bay.
7) Rice/corn/gram flour can be used as scrubs.
8) Wheat flour, gram flours can be used as face packs. The tightening effect of these is more than many other packs I have used.

Try these simple remedies and let me know. I am sure no one will be disappointed.

My Gustatory Delights

We all know that food is the basic necessity to live life, irrespective of class or cast, and the food habits differ considerably from  rich to poor and from region to region. Platters of the poor and rich are incomparable, both in terms of quality and quantity. To satisfy the craving gustatory organs the affluent can afford to visit the luxurious restaurants in the premises, but what about the poor? They can't afford the costly restaurants! But there are certain places which are frequented by both the classes alike, for these recipes are prepared best at these places; they are the street food stalls. One just can't avoid these places, for that great taste. Among the myriad items: Pani puri, Sev puri, Wada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Samosa, Kachori, Bhel, Dahi Puri, Cutlet, the favorite of all are the Pani Puris or Gol Gappas. The spicy, sweet and sour water with the crunchy puris stuffed with onions and bhujia have all the flavors needed to energize and make the taste buds happier. They are my favorite too!

I am a very health conscious person and prefer no artificial flavors, sweeteners, emulsifiers and preservatives. So my favorites among drinks are always the shakes and juices prepared from fresh resources. Cane juice especially flavored with ginger and lime is my favorite. It comes with all the goodness of sugarcane and lemon; sugarcane is rich source of iron while lemon vitamin C, an antioxidant. And at home, a cup of mint tea is truly refreshing. Whenever I have these, I feel refreshed instantly. Adding some nutritious contents to the body makes me really happy.

I have a sweet tooth and specially love the traditional sweets prepared at home. My favorite among them is Huggi. It is prepared from the wheat grains which are soaked and beaten. These can be stored and used whenever required. This mouthwatering recipe requires overnight soaking of the broken wheat grains and boiling them for up to 8 whistles in the pressure cooker and then adding equal amounts of jaggery and simmering it along with the two spoons of poppy seeds, desiccated coconut, powdered pepper(3-4),clove(1-2) and a spoonful of fennel seeds for 15-20 minutes and at last garnishing with raisins and cashew nuts fried in ghee.

Luxury dining for someone like me, who likes traditional food, is a meal with desserts, pakodas, paapad, chatnis, buttermilk, pickle, curd rice, rasam, verities of vegetables, salad, roti, rice and curry. I have little bit of everything and enjoy to the fullest. This with Paan at the end truly makes my day!

There is one such restaurant in Bengaluru which serves this kind of food, Basant Residency. Having glasses of buttermilk at the end is very relishing, there. And having dinner there, always remains unforgettable until the next one.

A Review Of 'My Airtel App'

Life became easier with the advent of internet; paying bills, buying things from home was all possible because of this. And now it's much easier with advent of apps, we don't have to login every time we are at a task; just a click and you are there! This is so convenient and less time consuming.

My Airtel App is one such one stop solution for all the Airtel customers. It comes with many more advantages with it. Being an Airtel customer, I loved it very much.

I am very happy that I can recharge my mobile number and my Airtel DTH account every month with no more hassles using the App. And on top of that, I get offers of my choice on recharging: free coupons for the shops of my choice!  And I can recharge any other number, post-paid or pre-paid, too for which I get discounts and offers again. One can save money for recharging easily using this, isn't that incredible?  I also saw that the first recharge is completely free. And the 'shake your phone' to get exclusive offers is really very cute where one can get extra talk time, full talk time or extra surfing the net. So many offers! I just love it!

Airtel money is another feature on the App. It helps one to pay bills, recharge and shop; I don't prefer carrying my purse when I am out for a walk and many a times regret for that. Whenever I come across the stores I suddenly remember that I have to buy something. But, now with Airtel Money, I will no more have to regret for not carrying my purse as my mobile is my constant companion. So, I can say, it is the best thing about the My Airtel App.

A click on Start Wynk'ing' took me to the 'Wynk Music'. I searched for my favorite songs and could find all of them. With 1.8 million songs available from Indian and International music, there is no chance to be disappointed. And there are many lists to choose from- regional, latest Hindi, Wynk Top 100, latest English, top albums top playlists, moods, popular artists. I can even choose to play radio, as there are many radio channels listed. And now that I have installed it, I can play my favorite songs whenever I want. I can also explore some unknown music, won't that be interesting? I am really happy that I found 'Wynk Music' through My Airtel App. I am sure my mother is going to love this too. She can listen to all her favorite old songs of 60's and 70's.

The My Airtel App is a package of all the good things one really loves-convenience, savings and entertainment.

Subhastu Sheeghram-All Good Things Should Be Done At The Earliest

Remember the days when we would go out in traffic and roam about under the hot Sun and in dust to do our bit of shopping? Despite all the trouble taken, we know, we were not happy at the end of the day many a times. Sometimes we would return home with a disappointment when we saw the rush at the shops. And sometimes we would return home empty handed because of the changing minds of the shop keepers or the sales persons at the stores who are reluctant to showcase what they have. They can't be blamed for everything, it is just impossible to unfold and fold everything they have. They find it floccinaucinihilipilification to show many products as the customers may buy very few or may even return without buying anything.

But there are a few places now, we all know, which have no such nuisances...the online shopping sites. The online shopping is a boon to shopaholics, where every item can be seen and compared within the comforts of home with no such headaches and bargaining.

Every now and then we the shopaholics visit the shopping websites to see what all new products are available and look for discounts and sales of the day. As we just love shopping we don't mind spending a lot of time in visiting the pages and searching for the offers. And we miss some of them as something else on the page grabs our attention and thus we keep jumping from page to page.

There is a solution for this for the fashionistas. That is, just install the Myntra app on mobile and get updates on the new arrivals, discounts and latest trends. This is not only time saving but most importantly very fruitful. Yeah! I say, it makes us shop happily and easily without missing the offers. There are special app only offers too. Even if we miss something, it notifies us whenever the out of stock products we added to our wish list are available for sale again. Cheers! All the fashionistas, can flaunt with the latest out of the box attires.

We were speculative about shopping online initially, but gradually the perspectives started changing. And now, we prefer only online shopping! And feel, if only had we trusted online shopping sites at the earliest, as the saying goes 'Subhastu Sheeghram'(it means all the good things should be done at the earliest). And so, it is time to download the Myntra app!

ALL GUESSES...

What is he up to?! Gosh! Something big is going to happen! What he is hinting to, in all the videos, is really ambiguous.

Kapil Dev! The legend who led the Indian team to victory in 1983 world cup is up to something bigger. He created history by getting our Nation, its first ever Cricket World Cup. When he says he will bring in a new league it really means something which is going to stir the Nation's enthusiasm once again!

He says, in one of the videos, a star never retires. In the other he mentions how proud he feels about Indian women players. And the other one shows him talking about sportsmen all over the world who earn much higher than Indian sportsmen and those days they never made money and played only for the country and how happy he feels now seeing Yuvraj Singh getting 16 crores for IPL.
Like in all the videos at the end, in the last video he conveys the message to Kapil Sharma of Comedy Circus with Kapil that, in his league, to win, one has to play the game with mind not heart.

By some permutation and combination of his words I could make out few possibilities of his new league:

1) Probably, it teams up all the retired and present day cricketers of India and makes them play cricket against each other; a cricket of different kind, a cricket where the usual rules of cricket are blended with some mind games. Or, may be there are some other twists.

2) It probably has the women cricketers too involved in the league.

3) It may probably involve the sportsmen of all fields, both retired and present day players, to play cricket and all other games.

4) It may team up many celebrities-cricketers, actors and other sportsmen to play cricket. It will really be different kind of cricket. Don't you think?

5) The teams led by celebrities may have to contest against each other in cricket along with mind games or general knowledge quizzes.

6) May be it is mixture of all or few of the guesses I made.
Sounds interesting, right?

Well, these are the possibilities that came to my mind, while I am still speculative. Let us keep our fingers crossed to see what this new league is really about.

These days IPL, which was received whole heartedly by our cricket loving Nation, seems to have lost its charm due to the surrounding controversies and match fixing. Hope this new league really gives the disappointed cricket fans of India, a treat to watch. And wish our sportsmen of the past give the younger generations a glimpse of their talent and inspire.

Earth Is Calling- Why Aren't We Listening?

"Trees bring rain; Trees check the CO2 level in the atmosphere and hence reduce global warming and keep the surroundings cool; Planting trees is thus very essential." This...we have read it in our texts in the very early days of schooling. So, now I can say even a primary school child knows the importance of trees. It is there in every bodies heads, but has not come into action yet! How many of us have planted trees so far! Why is it so? Have we become so busy in our lives that we don't have time to do these simple things for ourselves and the rest of the society? It is a high time that we do something for the Mother Nature. It is our duty to protect her. Why not begin this today?

Planting trees is not just enough! Using papers, tissues sensibly and recycling the used papers is very essential, else it will be like planting one tree and being the reason to cut the other. Then, what good will be done overall?

Water is 'The Real Elixir' for the mankind. So one should think twice before wasting even a drop of it. While  public transportation saves a lot of pocket money, it also keeps the air we breathe in cleaner. The stress in driving overcrowded roads can also be avoided by using public transportation many a times.

Reducing the usage of non biodegradable plastics and switching to biodegradable ones is beneficial to our soil. I can say, by my own experience that it keeps our homes clutter free! I mean, no more piles of unwanted plastics at home!

Like I said, we all know these but we don't implement. How can we be so selfish or irresponsible!

Learning To Celebrate Life Every Day...

Celebrating life every day is one of the toughest tasks for all of us. Do you remember, we celebrated life every day in our childhoods? It was naturally in us. Alas! We forgot being happy and celebrating life as we grew up. What might be the reason? Probably, the pressures of life-those which are built by ourselves or the society and competitive world, robbed our enthusiasm and liveliness insidiously as we grew up and here we are, the lost souls; lost in the meaningless life, a life without joy, we are leading.

While in my search for happiness I realized that one has many reasons to be happy, and to celebrate life every day. One should celebrate life with the beautiful Nature every day; the sunrise, the sun set, chirping of birds, fluttering leaves and their greenery. A look at life around every day as if it is new to us, all admiring and beckoning, leads to celebrations every day.

When I enter kitchen, I see the varieties of edibles we are given by Nature and smile. Those spices with different aromas and taste, those colorful pulses and vegetables, those fruits and dishes all make me happy. I think of how the mouthwatering cooking must have evolved all these years and smile. Relishing the tasty food, I celebrate life daily.

When I am out in a market, I look at the fresh vegetables I feel like jumping with joy. Those vendors, their other customers, and those people on street-the crowd with their very own ways of behavior and looks, make me wonder about the creativity of Nature and I smile. Sometimes, I think about all the creatures that Nature has given life and shelter to, and just smile and smile.

Those twinkling stars at night and the radiating moon broaden my mind with happiness and positivity.

Those light hearted serials fill me with positivity. Window shopping, online keeps me happy. When there is no power, I just wonder about these mesmerizing creations of man!

I love to decorate my house. Those beautiful walls, those beautiful artifacts keep my spirits high. Having a good beautiful house compels one to celebrate life every day too.

Above all this, the hope that I will have all those things I want in life makes me celebrate life every day. Then I think pessimistically, if at all I don't have them what am I going to do? Then, I realize again! I have many more reasons to be happy and celebrate life. And that is 'Life' itself.

THE FOREST MAN OF INDIA

I struggle hard daily; every minute and second to be me and to make my life better. Looking after myself, my necessities seems a great task; in short my life is all about myself, there is hardly any space or thought of the others. So, while I see the people who render selfless service to the society, I wonder... and...wonder. I wonder about their will, their selflessness.

Here is a man who lives in a hut in, Jorhat- Assam, who has grown a 1360 acres of forest! What an unbelievable achievement! I never even thought someone like him exists on this planet. We all have heard about a very few people who plant a few hundreds of trees every year on environmental day, but not someone like him, isn't it?

Padmashri Jadav Molai Payeng belongs to a tribe called 'Mishing'. When 16 years old he came across several snakes which died because of excessive heat when thrown on treeless sandbar due to floods. Then began his journey of planting trees, with plantation of 20 bamboo seedlings. He also took part in a Governments Scheme of planting trees over 200 hectares of land. When the project was over, other workers left but he still continued. And this led to growing the 1360 acres of forest, in 30 years, named after him as "MOLAI FOREST". Now it harbors the Bengal tigers, Indian rhinoceros, deer, apes, rabbits and many varieties of birds; he created shelter for so many animals while he added some beauty to the landscape.

If I get honored, ever in future, for my personal achievements, I would be more puzzled than happy; I feel so whenever I see such people being honored. I feel personal achievements are praise worthy for the strong will one has to achieve them, but not worthy of being honored as it is something which one does for his or her sake. They set an example and inspire many others to persevere and thus help indirectly but that is only secondary effect. And hence, I feel selfless people with a will of steel like, Jadav Payeng need to be honored without a doubt. 30 years of such an unwavering will is truly commendable. There are many achievers like him listed in JSW Will Of  Steel, but he stands tall. Please do think about it and vote for- The  Forest Man Of India. Serving the nature and society to make it beautiful for all of us to live is the greatest service one can do.

P.S: Information procured from, Wikipedia.

I'm voting for Jaday Payeng's  #WillOfSteel and blogging on BlogAdda to help him/her get felicitated and eventually enabled by JSW.

Children Of The Ganga Need You.

Setting up new schools and increasing the number of teachers is not enough to eliminate illiteracy from India. Children these days get mid-day meals at many government and government aided schools in India, but the school drop-out rate hasn't reduced significantly. Children find class room learning very boring, all that is there in their nascent mind is exploring the surroundings and playing. Even when in class they don't pay attention to what is being taught in the schools. They are either looking out through windows or are drowsing. This is obviously because of lack of interest and so, to eliminate illiteracy the methods of imparting education must be changed.

Illiteracy is often associated with crime as the saying goes, "Empty mind is a devils workshop". To get the active minds of children into creativity and make every Indian a better person and thus India a better place to live in, illiteracy has to be eliminated by making learning interesting.

The cultural hub of India, Varanasi has such a unique school for the children. The school is not within the confinement of four walls of bricks and mortar, but it is a floating school; a school on the boat. I know, many haven't heard about it; even I was unaware of it until now. It was discovered during the journey of doing right. In the video, we see the children who are mostly under privileged. As shown and also told by one of the students there, it has mostly the children who don't go to schools and wander in the streets. And, look at them! They are writing, drawing, so beautifully. And in fact bold enough to speak in front of the camera. The children of Ganga have so much potential!

If given a little more exposure to the modern world of learning, they are sure to reach heights in future. All they need is a mere 90,000 rupees for the magical transformation  of the boat school while they are capable of returning much more to the society and India in the coming years. So far, 24,000 rupees have been collected from many donors and now it is your turn to do your bit towards building the future of India. A day's salary or even an hours earning mean a lot towards the contribution. This year don't think of throwing a party on your b'day or anniversary, instead donate here to nurture these budding talents, and share it to spread the awareness, and to encourage others for the same.

Curse

Sana constantly gazed out through the windows of her moving taxi. Being born in an affluent family seemed to be a curse to her now; if she was born in a middle-class family she wouldn't get married to this money minded person. She felt so much of pain within, neither she could cry nor she could speak out. As the taxi  slowed down while to take a turn, she saw an old lady in rags picking food from the garbage and devouring.

Beware! You Are Not Alone!

Every time the breeze touches her face she feels revived. Her balcony has been her favorite abode after dinner for she loves watching the glimmering moon and twinkling stars. She is so happy she moved to this house; it is small but tidy with ample ventilation and light.

As soon as she enters her room to get into bed, her phone rings. "Hello... this...", before she proceeds...a coarse voice on the other side, "Miss. Stacey, beware you are not alone at home.  It is not as beautiful as it appears. There is a lot you can't see. Just beware" Before she mutters anything trembling...the phone is hung-up. She is a brave young lady in her early twenties; she is not afraid of the bad men around, she has the courage to face them. But, she feels, not brave enough to face the ghosts; the mere thought of their appearance makes her shiver.

She keeps the lights at home on, all night. Determined not to sleep, she sits idle looking around in the hall. She feels some shadows behind and beside her...all the horror scenes from movies seem to repeat at home. Tired, she at last sleeps around six am, when the sun has risen.

When she gets up, she remembers how horrible the last night was, but now the house seems to completely normal with no such eeriness, never had she felt this since she moved here. However, she is afraid to spend the night that day. She thought and badly wished it to be a prank, but such words at night could not be taken coolly even after trying hard.

While she is at the park in the evening, a familiar face jogging smiles at her, "Is everything alright Miss. Stacey?"
"Yeah...Yeah...I am alright", she says forcing a smile on her face too.
"Don't worry Miss. Stacey every house has those invisible ones...those microorganisms are all pervasive, one has to be careful enough to be not attacked by them", chuckling he says and runs back to the track.

Her new neighbor, the crazy old retired Microbiologist, Mr. McGregor was the prankster. She doesn't understand how to react to this bad joke. She just looks at him in surprise as he leaves.
Stacey who was reluctant to stay there, is now all determined to face her fearful thoughts and moves back to her abode to conquer them.

Audience

'World is a stage and we all are actors.', Sara reads to her 8 year old son, Jack.
'If so, who is watching us then?', little Jack asks curiously.
'Definitely we all are; we are actors of some plays and audience of many others. But we  make only a part of the audience, the rest are the directors who stay outside this world watching from far.'
Before she proceeds to read further comes the unexpected from Jack,'Why do they create such stories! It is so painful living such characters! Why can't they write and direct all happy, light hearted stories?'
Pondering for sometime as she had never thought of it,'Well son, they want entertainment, just like we do. We watch a thriller movie because it arouses that curiosity. We watch comedy, we watch horror stories, we watch tragedy though we hate them in real life and so do they.'
What kind of entertainment is watching soppy movies/ shows? It is all so complicated to understand, she says to herself while Jack is deeply engrossed, thinking about what was told to him.

E-Governance's Necessity For DigitalIndia

67 years of independence and still many villages in India are devoid of basic facilities like power, ample potable water. They don't have proper roads and not even schools. And, our government has taken a pledge of making India digitalized by 2019. When they could not be provided these basic facilities, will it be possible to give them access to modern technologies? How can it be done? Well, I say, through an effective governance.

India has an area of 32,87,590 sq.km and a population of 121,01,93,422. Governing it most effectively, considering its area as well as population, is truly a challenging task. We often hear stories of corruption and sluggish work at government offices. This obviously is delaying passing the tenders and completion of the developmental projects. So to fasten the processes and growth of the country and to make it digitalized, it is a must to digitalize the countries governance first. These astounding inventions of 21st century, the computers, are no doubt faster than humans beyond comparison in every calculation and processing and I don't think they demand money from the citizens for the work to be done too! The government's money sanctioned for the developmental projects or to reach the citizens will no more be engulfed by the corrupt officials. So there is a two way advantage of E-Governance, faster completion of projects along with reduced corruption, which together can surely accelerate the process of making India a rich and digitalized nation.

But, that has some challenges too. The computers used should be programmed well to meet the requirements efficiently. And for this a globally known name in the industry, Intel with its 'Digital skills For India' and 'Innovate For India' initiatives has joined hands with the government and that means we can hope for no failure in the process of making #DigitalIndia.

Ariel-Matic Made It Worth!

While I blogged last time for #IsLaundryOnlyAWomansJob, I had this constant feeling that I am very lucky as my husband is not one of those 76% men who, according to the survey by AK Nielsen, feel laundry is just a women's job. The survey also mentioned, 77% of men depend on women for doing the laundry. It is actually the other way at my home; I hate laundering and my husband has been doing the laundry since we married.  He collects all the clothes, bed-sheets, pillow covers and cushion covers on weekends and takes up the laundry. I only assist him a bit. He also helps me in spreading them for drying.

I actually feel clothes don't come out completely clean from our washing machine; I feel manual washing is better than the machine washing. In fact, I suggested my husband that we should soak the clothes before putting into machine. But he didn't agree as it is against the instructions for our machine wash. So, the moment I received the parcel, I was more excited than my husband as I actually wanted to test this product ; I don't like half done work and my husband doesn't want me to do the laundry manually.

As soon as I opened the parcel, I was pretty impressed by its fragrance. According to the information on the packet, it has the power of Bar + Brush + Blue + Germ Removal + Quick Rinse. It also read, it effectively removes tough stains like curry, chocolate, ink and milk tea based on technical tests and helps remove collar and cuff stains too. Oh! Great! Buckets of water, the machine takes in will not go wasted and laundering will go perfectly, this time, I thought. Then, I visited the site www.ariel.in too, to get more information on ariel and laundry tips; my main motto was to learn some tricks to do the laundering quickly and effectively. And trust me, I loved it. I found all the sections-laundry tips, make more time with laundry and beginners guide to laundry, very useful ; deciphering those confusing laundry symbols, help with removing stains were really informative.

Since winter has gone and summer has arrived, the blanket is to be packed and kept on the loft. So we thought of washing it. While the still skeptical me waited curiously, the blanket came out cleaner than the previous washes and smelled really good.  And now, I am happy and feeling that machine-washing is not a boring, unfruitful job that doesn't give desired results. My husband was quite impressed too.

I hope to actively involve in laundering in future, with the Ariel Matic. Silly me, every time I saw it in the departmental store, did not buy thinking it is much costlier. Just a spoonful of it does the job very effectively while many scoops of other detergents are nowhere near. This time doing the laundry was a completely different experience.

With Ariel Matic, anybody can do the laundry easily and effectively!

The Smart Phone For The Smart People

I never understood why people spend plenty on a mobile phone. Few costliest ones are even devoid of the basics required for daily life usage. And they say, it is their passion for gadgets that makes them spend so much. What more is to be expected from a phone! Good hardware and software and the looks with many applications, that's all! Spending thousands of rupees is just a waste when we get them at lower rates. One can't be cautious with his/her phone all the time and that surely ends up in a fall from the pocket on to the ground or into water damaging it completely or partially. And repairing them is so costlier that, one can get a new phone in those charges. Resale amount is also very less. And then there is a lot of panicking and later a realization that spending so much on a mobile is actually a no.

Recently, my first smart phone which I loved very much fell off when I got up from the chair and is badly damaged now. While I was regretting, the Motorola people came out with a cheaper mobile, MOTO-E in the market. Moreover it is from MOTOROLA, a brand recognized all over the world while mine was some.....company's and it is their new venture into gadgets.

MOTO-E apart from being cheaper has many attractive features with no compromise on quality.

Operating System(OS) - Android 5.0 (Lollipop) which is the latest

Processor                   - 1.2 GHz quad core processor while make
multitasking using different applications faster and easier.

Battery                        - 2390mah makes it really very long lasting

Storage                           - 8 GB Internal storage 32GB Expandable

Connectivity                   - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Camera                          -  5 Megapixel primary camera and 0.3 mp secondary camera. Sharing favorites is made easier with just three taps

Design and durability   - It is sturdy and handy with a Corning Gorilla glass and water repellent coating. Anti-smudge coating on the screen prevents finger prints marking.

Display                         - Quad High Definition screen allows crystal clear display of texts and images.

I call it the Smart phone for the smart people. It has good looks and all the features I look for and surely is not heavy on my pocket.

Smartphone is a necessity these days, but not the only necessity in life. One has to be smart and save for other necessities too. And so I choose to be smart with the all new MOTO-E.

For A Good Taste And Health

I am a foodie. I love indulging in savories and sweets. I love juices, shakes and salads. I relish the cuisine from northern to southern India, from Gujarat to West Bengal. Chinese and Italian cuisine is my favorite too.

I have tried many of these recipes at home, but all were not finger-licking good. In fact I spoiled few dishes entirely. Now, I seriously need a change as I am bored of the same old recipes I follow at home. What is the big deal in that, I can visit a restaurant nearby! If you are thinking so, you are wrong. I don't prefer to go to restaurants often as I am health conscious and prefer some healthy food with less oil most of the time. So I thought why not go to the Kellogg's Wale Guptaji's family.

It is not just me, everybody in the neighborhood wants to go to their house. Mrs.Gupta prepares delicious, innovative breakfast recipes. She is damn good at preparing sweets, savories, shakes, salads and so on. Moreover, her recipes are very healthy as she uses Kellogg's Corn Flakes, All Bran Wheat Flakes and Oats in her innovative breakfast recipes. I used to have Kellogg's Corn flakes with milk but got bored after sometime. I am sure I am going to fall in love once again with those, after having breakfast at Guptaji's place.

I think, I will have to frequent Guptaji's place to have all the mouthwatering breakfasts that are prepared by Mrs.Gupta. I love to have salads with the meals in afternoon and at night. But, Mrs.Gupta's salads seem to be exceptionally tasty and healthier than the plane salads which I don't prefer for breakfast at home, for their tastelessness. They are a healthy and tasty mix of corn flakes, oats, fruits, vegetables and spices. And there is Kellogg's Oats Hariyali Dosa. Dosa with little oil is always considered healthy but Mrs.Gupta's twist to it with some oats, spinach, mung and curry leaves makes it healthier and yummy. And the Kellogg's Oats Veggie Nutri Cutlets are again a blend of healthy ingredients and a little bit of spices for the great taste. These are a few to name, there are over a hundred such newer recipes invented by Mrs.Gupta.

The cereals Mrs.Gupta uses are a must have for the breakfast as they reduce  BMI by reducing weight, and are rich in Vitamins (Especially vitamin B) and minerals like Iron. The soluble fibers in Oats are also known to reduce the risk of developing type-2 Diabetes. So these innovations by Mrs.Gupta will surely help many like me, who doesn't want to make a compromise; I want both healthy and tasty food.

Now, when you know why I want to go to Kellogg's Wale Guptaji's House for nashta, you badly want to go too. Do visit them for your own benefit.

A to Z Blogging Challenge Theme Reveal

Hey everybody taking part in the April A to Z Blogging Challenge, I am here for the first time. And I am very excited about it. I came across this challenge last year while, being a newbie, I was trying to explore the blogosphere. I had created my first blog on 2nd April and hence missed the chance. Since then I have been waiting for this time to come.

I am not that great in writing and my vocabulary isn't that great too. I know you can easily make out that here. I enjoyed  and learnt from many of the posts last year and looking for the same this time too. My theme for  the challenge is, 'Stories'. My stories would be of all kind...few intriguing and a few plane. I wish not to disappoint my blogger friends here, and I hope to survive the challenge.

My Search For Happiness

One needs no reason to be happy, one has to find happiness within they say; however hard I try to find it within, I seldom succeed. Even when I see someone with that happy disposition, I just wonder. Just being happy, always, is something which I don't understand at all.  And I know many people appreciate this. May be it means taking life as it comes, expecting not much and loving every task at hand and being contented with whatever we have. We all are those imperfect and materialistic human beings and seek happiness outside.

Sometimes, while I try to find happiness in something or the other, from nowhere comes the sadness and prevents me from reaching out for it. And sometimes I worry, if I don't have access to things I like, what will I do? Perhaps, be sad? No, who likes to be sad! I should change. I should learn to find it within, soon. So that I am happy forever and ever, no matter what. But, it is not an easy task! I hope to succeed on one day very soon.

You may become surprised if I say, Summer is my favorite season and brings all the happiness with it. Since childhood Summer meant being free, all play and no work. Summer meant being with family and friends. My liking for summer hasn't faded away till date. love the clear sky and bright sunny days in Summer more than in any other season. The sky with dark clouds evokes some unknown feeling of insecurity and sadness within. I love the breeze more in Summer than in rainy season or winter. I enjoy the mango showers more than the downpour in rainy season. I love ice-creams, juices and cold drinks in all seasons but having them in Summer is the greatest pleasure. I enjoy them especially while watching TV in the evening.

love watching the night sky filled with infinite number of stars; while gazing at them, my worries and stress dilute in the never ending stretch of the dark sky and I feel relieved and happy. I love to peep through the windows and watch the birds fly. I find happiness in seeing the life around through my balcony, in the evenings. Those memories of my past, my childhood, make me happy too. I cherish them more than anything else.

Though materialistic, our equations differ. There are certain things with which my happiness is associated. Happiness to me is surfing the web, watching light-hearted shows on TV and eating delicious food. Like all the ladies in the world, I find happiness in shopping clothes and jewelry; grooming and decorating my house. The list is unending. And now, I am finding it in blogging...blogging for happy hours and winning the happy hour vouchers.
